John W. Grimes died at his home in Smartsburg yesterday. The deceased was
born June 16, 1838, and at the time of his death was slightly over 49 years of age. He was a respected citizen and leaves
a wife and four children. The funeral will take place tomorrow at 12 o'clock from the Church at Smartsburg, services
conducted by Rev. J. A. Johnston. Interment at Oak Hill. The deceased was a brother of James Grimes of the
Crawfordsville Police Force, and Thomas and George Grimes who reside in Walnut township.

John GRIMES of Smartsburg died last Thursday of pneumonia at the age of 49. He leaves a wife and 4 children. Rev. Hamilton of Thorntown conducted the funeral at the Baptist Church in Smartsburg Saturday. Internment was in Oak Hill.
